Anime Piece Materials Guide: Upgrade Costs and Where to Farm Them

All the materials Anime Piece upgrades need — Flash Step souls, Robo Gears and Cores, Banana Splits, Magic Ball, Armament Crystal — and the bosses and NPCs that drop them.

Quick answer

Anime Piece upgrades cost materials, not just cash: Flash Step needs souls from the starter island bandits and the Rigaru boss, the robot fighting style needs Robo Gears and Robot Cores from the Dragon Ball island, and Armament Haki needs Banana Splits plus the Magic Ball and Armament Crystal from two late-game bosses.

  • Flash Step: 15 Bandit Souls, 15 Rigaru Bandit Souls, 5 Rigaru Souls and a cash payment.
  • Robot fighting style: 45 Robo Gears, 5 Robot Cores and 15,000 cash.
  • Haki V2 and V3: a Magic Ball from Master Kame (100% drop) and an Armament Crystal from the Broly raid boss.

Almost every major upgrade in Anime Piece is sold by a trainer NPC, and most of them want specific mob and boss drops on top of cash. The table below lists each upgrade's materials and where to farm them, and the sections afterwards cover the details that matter: drop rates, respawn behavior and the trickier summon chains.

Flash Step materials

The Flash Step trainer stands behind the starter island, and players name him Hoblux or Rob Lucci. He teaches Flash Step in exchange for 15 Bandit Souls, 15 Rigaru Bandit Souls and 5 Rigaru Souls, plus a cash payment reported as either 5,500 or 10,000.

All three souls come from the starter island itself. Bandit Souls drop from the ordinary bandit NPCs, Rigaru Bandit Souls from the tougher Rigaru bandits, and the Rigaru Soul from the Rigaru boss. That boss respawns about once a minute, and one player records the Rigaru Soul as a guaranteed 100% drop, though accounts differ slightly on exactly which enemy drops which soul. With a boss that returns this fast, the five Rigaru Souls are the quickest part of the set to finish.

Flash Step is worth picking up early: it is a short teleport that helps you escape mobs while you level.

Robot fighting style materials

The robot style trainer stands near Capsule Corp on the Dragon Ball island and asks for 15,000 cash, 45 Robo Gears and 5 Robot Cores. Robo Gears drop from the robot NPCs in the area, while Robot Cores come from the robot boss nearby, so clear the NPC packs for gears and then fight the boss repeatedly for your five cores.

Banana Splits: the material behind Haki V1

The Armament Haki quest asks for 5 Banana Splits, and each one is made at the NPC on the starter island from 5 Bananas, 2 Water Buckets and a small cash payment reported as 35.

  • Bananas drop from the monkey NPCs on the starter island and on Jungle Island. One player estimates the drop chance at roughly 40-50%, so expect to defeat a few monkeys per banana.
  • Water Buckets are bought from Miss Water at the well for about 50 each.

For all five splits, that adds up to 25 bananas and 10 buckets.

Armament Haki materials from V1 to V3

Armament Haki V1 has a level 200 requirement before the quest can start. The Haki trainer sits in a cave on Sorcerer Island, and his quest chain runs:

  1. Deal 1,000,000 cumulative damage with anything.
  2. Deliver 5 Banana Splits.
  3. Defeat 25 bosses — the Rigaru boss on the starter island respawns about every minute and is a common target for this step.
  4. Buy Armament Haki V1 for 50,000 cash.

After V1, the upgrades are straight purchases with two boss materials:

  • Haki V2 is bought from the NPC on Jungle Island (it requires V1) for 35,000 cash plus a Magic Ball and an Armament Crystal.
  • Haki V3 is bought from the NPC on the starter island for 50,000 cash plus the same two materials.

Farming the Magic Ball and Armament Crystal

The Magic Ball drops 100% of the time from Master Kame, the Old Fighter boss at the Good House on the Dragon Ball island. He has about 20,000 HP and a second phase, so he is a real fight, and one player recommends bringing someone along for the farm.

The Armament Crystal drops from Broly, a raid boss who does not roam the map. You summon him inside Capsule Corp by giving a scientist an M-Chip. The M-Chip drops from the Frieza boss — sources report either 15% or 20% — or you can buy one for Robux at Capsule Corp. Because Broly is a raid boss, going in with a group is recommended.

Other materials worth knowing

  • Teleport Crystals are used at the fast-travel NPC to teleport between islands, and they drop from bosses across the game. The exact drop chance is not documented, but fighting bosses while you level builds a supply naturally.
  • Key Dash keys: the homeless NPC on the Dragon Ball island upgrades your dash at level 200 for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Keys plus 10,000 cash. The Gold Key drops from Frieza, the Silver Key from the Crimson King boss, and the Bronze Key from the robot boss, reported at about 25%.
  • Crystal Necklace materials: a vendor on the Sword Online island crafts this legendary accessory for 15 crystals, 50 wood and 10 coins. Crystals are mined in the island cave with a pickaxe (roughly one per four swings, by one player's estimate), wood comes from the trees on the starter island, and coins are earned from quests.

Planning your farming runs

Because each material drops on a specific island, a sensible approach is to collect a set while you are already leveling there: the Flash Step souls come from the starter island, the Robo Gears and Cores from the Dragon Ball island, and the Banana Split ingredients from the monkeys on the starter and Jungle islands. The cash payments — 15,000 for the robot style, 35,000 for Haki V2 and 50,000 each for V1 and V3 — often take longer to save than the materials themselves, so it is worth checking the Anime Piece codes page for current codes.
