How to Get the Dual Swords in Anime Piece (Kirito's Paired Swords)

The Dual Swords route in Anime Piece starts at the sword-combining NPC on Online Island. Here's where to get the Shadow Blade, Emerald Blade, Magic Balls and Dual Essence.

Quick answer

The Dual Swords are crafted on Online Island. The sword-combining NPC there asks for one Shadow Blade, one Emerald Blade, five Magic Balls, 25,000 cash and one Dual Essence — hand all of that over and you walk away with the crafted weapon.

  • Shadow Blade: bought from a purchasable NPC that occasionally spawns on Online Island, for 25,000 cash plus two Magic Balls
  • Emerald Blade: drop from the emerald swordsman boss on the side of Online Island
  • Magic Balls: guaranteed drop from the boss at the Gold House — you need seven in total
  • Dual Essence: rare drop (reported 5%) from the summoned Dual Swordsman raid boss
  • 25,000 cash: paid to the combining NPC when you craft

Where the Dual Swords route starts

The whole route starts and ends on Online Island — the Sword Art Online-style island you sail to by boat from the early islands. Find the sword-combining NPC there, the island's blacksmith: talk to him and he lays out the full quest requirements for the Dual Sword.

Two things to sort before you start gathering:

  • The Dual Swords are a quest weapon, not a game-pass weapon, so the whole route runs on in-game items and cash.
  • Plan for roughly 50,000 cash in total (money guide): 25,000 goes to the NPC for the craft, and buying the Shadow Blade costs another 25,000 on top.

Gather the items in whatever order suits you — the Shadow Blade is the only requirement that depends on a spawn, so fit the rest of the farming around its announcements.

The walkthrough above follows the full route to the finished weapon: the combining NPC's requirements, the grind for each material, and the Dual Sword's moves — Twin Rupture, Blade Storm and Mixed Tornado — once it is equipped.

Emerald Blade: farm the emerald swordsman

The Emerald Blade drops from the emerald swordsman boss on the side of Online Island — the same island as the combining NPC, so no island-hopping between attempts. Expect a grind: the drop rate is low, reported around 8–10%, so it can take several kills.

Magic Balls: the guaranteed drop at the Gold House

You need seven Magic Balls in total — five for the craft and two to buy the Shadow Blade. They drop with a 100% chance from the boss at the Gold House, the Dragon Ball-style island at the far end of the map past Sorcerer Island, in the area players call the Level 200 island. It's the boss you'll hear called the Old Fighter or Master Roshi.

He isn't a pushover: about 20,000 health, and he transforms into a second life in which he heals and deals more damage. The guaranteed drop makes the grind predictable, though — every full kill pays one Magic Ball. You may need to visit the island once before it appears as a teleport destination, which makes the return trips easier.

Shadow Blade: watch for the dark-weather spawn

The Shadow Blade — the black blade — can't be farmed on demand. A purchasable NPC appears on Online Island from time to time: when it spawns, an announcement appears in chat and the weather darkens. Come quickly when you see the message — the blade costs 25,000 cash plus two Magic Balls, so have both set aside while you work on the other requirements.

You can probably buy only one Shadow Blade per spawn, and a private server makes the wait easier — though that isn't confirmed.

Dual Essence: summon the Dual Swordsman

The rarest requirement comes from a summoned raid boss:

  1. Kill the mini boss on Online Island for a Dual Orb. Once picked up, the orb sits in your inventory — and it's lost if you die, so don't carry one into risky fights.
  2. Take the orb to the summoning NPC on Online Island and use it. It spawns the Dual Swordsman, better known as the real Kirito: about 65,000 health, heavy combos, and a reputation as the second strongest boss in the game.
  3. Defeat him for a reported 5% chance at the Dual Essence. He also drops a cape known as the strongest sword cape in the game.

Bring a group of three or four players — it makes the fight safer and getting the orb itself easier. With a 5% drop, don't be surprised if you need several summons.

Turn in the items and craft

With one Shadow Blade, one Emerald Blade, five Magic Balls, one Dual Essence and 25,000 cash, return to the combining NPC on Online Island and hand everything over to complete the Dual Sword craft. That's the entire route — the Shadow Blade spawn is the only requirement you can't grind on demand, so work on the other items while waiting for the announcement.

One weapon, several names

Don't get confused by community terminology: “dual sword,” “dual swords,” “the master sword” and “Kirito's sword” or “Kirito's dual swords” all refer to the same crafted pair made from the Shadow Blade and Emerald Blade. It's a non-game-pass quest weapon with three named moves plus regular M1 attacks: Mixed Tornado, Blade Storm (hold the input) and Twin Rupture. If you're weighing it against the rest of the arsenal, the Anime Piece tier list compares it with the Dark Blade.
